Imagination's Poured in Place System is easily customized to meet the safety, design and aesthetic requirements of any playground. Because the rubber and urethane components are mixed and applied on-site, school colors, logos, games and/or geometric shapes permanently incorporated into the surface are practical options.
Thicknesses can be modified on-site to meet varying critical fall heights within the playground and colors can be mixed and varied to complement playground equipment and playground settings.
Our EPDM rubber comes in 22 different colors and can be blended to suite your needs. The bonded poured in place comes in eight different colors. Imagination Playground EPDM surface consists of two layers. The base coat is recycled tire 100% wire free, this acts as the custion. Then a minimum of 1/2" EPDM rubber is appiled this is the wear n tear and makes the surface look great. This must be installed on compacted Crusted stone, Concrete or Asphalt.
Our Bonded Poured in Place consists of one layer of rubber mulch, mixed with our polyurethane binder. This is screed to the desired depth (according to the fall height) and then has a trowel finish. This runs about the same price as EPDM surface per square foot, but can be installed on compacted dirt or sand which could save you $2.50 - $3.50 per square foot with sub-base cost. The SBR Mulch is colored with a dye which stops the rubber oxidizing and breaking down. The polyurethane also gives the rubber extra protection. Thats why we give a 5yr warranty with this product as well.

The top surface is exposed to ultraviolet rays, water, foot traffic and the intense pounding of children at play. More material means more strength and a longer life (Imagination Playground Surface top coat is 1/2" thick). Ask prospective poured-in-place suppliers about their warranties and how much material (by weight) their crews will install, so you know what's underneath.
As more company's are starting to install poured in place, it's becoming very competitive, so companies are looking for cheaper ways to install the surface, they are using less expensive rubber (SBR) with pigmented binders, (which are made for running tracks) and NOT playgrounds. + reducing their warranties. You have heard people say you get what you pay for.
Warranty
Imagination Playground Safety Surface is so confident with our Materials and our crews installation; we give a 5 year warranty against wear through, cracking, loss of resilience, and delamination. Most companies only give a 3 year warranty.
Product Testing
Imagination Playground Surface meet the accessibility and safety guidelines established by the American's with Disabilities Act and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Imagination Playground Surface has been tested for impact and shock absorbing properties in accordance with ASTM F1292-99.
